you have to understand that what I do, with my blog and youtube videos, I am constantly trying out new products that are requested by viewers, have a lot of hype, or just seem cool and different. If I was just a regular girl going about her makeup routine, I can guarantee I wouldn’t have half the stuff I have! People rely on my opinions on products to see if it’s worth the money, and that’s part of why I have so much stuff. I spend a lot more on product than most people because of this.. it’s kinda a work expense, in a way!
As far as companies sending product, generally they contact me. Companies get hundreds of thousands of emails a day from people asking to try products, so it’s hard to get a companies attention that way these days. If you are trying to get a companies attention, the best thing you can do is include your stats in the email- your blog views, unique visitors, anywhere you may have been mentioned, or your subscriber count or view count on Youtube. Companies really appreciate when you have that information ready to go, as then they know who is going to give their product exposure, or who just wants to try and get free stuff.
For makeup that I buy that I dont like, dont get around to using, or for companies that send collections that are limited edition (once it’s off the website, it’s hard for me to use it because it’s not readily available and people don’t like that) I give them to friends, family, friends-of-friends, and donation centers.
Aaaand that was a novel, but I hope I answered your question!
